You Are a Baby, Again

There are times when the presence of another is off-setting. This person may be friend, or foe, but for some reason their visage is conducive to heart palpitations and perhaps a little sweat.  When tensions are running high, or it is becoming difficult to rein in neurotic or evil thoughts it is an effective practice (to calm the nerves a bit, so one can regain their wits) to imagine that this person is a baby.  That they are in their infantile state.  It is important to do this with purpose, quietly and lovingly.

First, take a look at their hands.  Now, imagine a softer, hammier and stubbier version. Shrink them.  With paper thin nails so delicate, and non existent cuticles.  The curve of their cheek.  See it a downy, pink, supple little fruit.  Their philtrum transforms into a small scooping little slope, the perfect segue to a pouty, berry mouth.

At this point, the work is done and one just lets nature take its course.  The feelings of aggression and stress begin to subside.  Not only that, but with real work in visualizing the perceived opposition as a little bundle, the helpful and loving neurotransmitter oxytocin produces a warm and sweet feeling that softens the edges of a hostile or nervous-making encounter.  There now, isn’t that better?

Turns out, matilda has no such business acumen and she could not give me advice on moving to the city, because she is a native New Yorker!  Of course.  Quick response though.

Death by Greg Ross on May 24th, 2011

In the late 1880s, the body of a 16-year-old girl was pulled from the Seine. She was apparently a suicide, as her body showed no marks of violence, but her beauty and her enigmatic smile led a Paris pathologist to order a plaster…
